Jim Corbett... a wonderland

15th July, 2011,8:30PM, dropped to my PG by my friend. It was Friday, so somehow wanted to get drunk so i called Kunal Chaturvedi, as he is always ready for boozing. So v made plan to meet up at his home. Me and Aditya Kashyap , my roommate, reached to his home at 9:20 PM. I always drink Vodka but I needed the transition i.e. change from vodka to some nice whisky or scotch and that night got push, of course by Kunal, to drink scotch. Luckily it was Black label, I hope mostly know about black label, for those who don’t know about black label, it’s one of the finest scotch. So actual fun stared here.
One peg, two peg, three peg. After this we ordered Pizza, then fourth per, fifth peg then suddenly Kunal said lets go to Jim Corbett park, “apna b matha thanka” and it was around 11:30PM. Me and Adi were looking each other like we wanted to go because we never been there. I had to go to office on Saturday for some work but I decided to go to Jim Corbett because this moment will not come back and moreover Kunal is good in pushing. So we finally decided to go. Kunal came to our PG and we packed our bag. One more thing it was strange that Adi agreed so easily. It was just because he got SLR and wanted to shoot some good pictures, it doesn’t matter because he said yes and going with us. And as usual Adi has 3 luggage including his camera actually he always prepare for worst like if we starve so he will be having biscuits multivitamins  and pouch of medicines like we are going to get sick there. And these days he has one more thing to carry i.e. his small travelling pillow damn how much he carries.
So our journey started at 1:45 AM. We were three friends in Kunal’s Zen. As I told you that Adi carry his pillow so he slept on the back seat. You know we two, me and kunal, were drunk and kunal was driving and I was in the front seat  to accompany kunal and I was not suppose to sleep at the first seat so I remain awake but the person who is not drunk or can say suffii is slept and drunk people are driving. Nice to have Adi with us. Anyway, we were heading towards Moradabad and suddenly we were not able to see road, you won’t imagine there was a fog, first we thought its smoke but then we realize its fog because windscreen was all wet. I don’t know how kunal was driving because I was sitting beside him and was not able to see the road. I think that was Liquor, that he consumed, was driving car at the speed of 80 -100 kmph and that is when you can’t see the road. Road was good but as I said about poorly visible road suddenly there was a block at the starting point of fly over and there was a slip road. GOD was with us that we saw some truck taking the side lane and head-on collision was averted. Kunal and I were shocked and were looking at each other just like we saw death.
Anyway we kept moving till we saw a petrol pump, filled the tank and after an hour we stop to have tea. Adi was still sleeping like he was the one who got drunk. Then toll tax drama started. They tried to stop us for the toll but we didn’t stop. After 10 -20 km there was another toll we tried to run but they made us stop. They said we have to pay tax. As usual Kunal was not in mood of paying toll so he said he is a son of IG so - Does he need to pay toll tax? That toll guy got confused and said sir, give me one cigarette before you go. So that Rs.45 toll costs us 5 Rs cigarette only. At 6:00 AM we reached Kashipur and now after some frustration I kicked Adi’s big ass just to wake him up. He was amazed to see the fog in summer as in these days temperature of Noida is above 40 degree.
Till now road was good but here started the actual Indian road. I don’t know there were potholes on road or the road was on the potholes. That 30 Km stretch took us 2 hour just because of road or whatever that was. Jim Corbett is a tourist place still that road is some piece of crap. It seems like Govt. don’t want tourist to go there. At about 8:30 we reach Rampur and now the actual beauty of Jim Corbett started. Drizzling started and it was greenery everywhere and surrounding was so beautiful that we forgot about those shitholes on the road. But like we say “teen kaney kaam bigadey”. We came to know that the gates of Jim Corbett are closed from 15th June and will open in November. So we decided to take room to take rest and will head back home in the evening.  We took some nice cheap room worth 1500 and came to know that one gate is open at Jhirni. We paid Rs 2200 to guide including jeep for the safari. Our journey started with king cobra crossing the road, thought we are having good start. Jungle was very dense and we saw dears, some birds and some foot prints of tiger but no actual tiger. We took a pit stop at some resort and ordered 2 maggi, 3 bread toast, 1 bread omelette, one plat pakora’s and 3 coffee as damn we were hungry. After half an hour stop, we started our safari again but end up seeing some more dears and monkeys and reached our hotel at 7:00 PM. At 7:30 we went to see local market and purchased local popular sweets called “bal mithai” and finally one half of BP i.e. Blender’s Pride, Indian scotch. Again we started our fun party and got drunk again and this party lasts till 12:30. Then I woke up in the morning at 6:00 and started our back journey at 7:45AM and reached Noida at about 12:30PM.

And imagin what i saw when i reach to my PG, Door was not locked. Again Mr. Adi didn't lock the door. But thank GOD nothig was stolen. Adi will remain Adi, nothing can change him.

So my experience to Jim Corbett was really nice and would like to go again but on season i.e. around January-February. And I must say that we must visit that place, nice change in environment and mood.
